IMPORTANT NEWS!

LAWHF is changing ................
............... to become World Heritage UK (WH:UK)

LAWHF was originally established in 1996 with the primary aim of helping local authorities in the UK to fulfil their responsibilities in relation to the management of WHSs.

Although local authorities continue to play a key role in WH, over recent years there have also been significant changes in the WH 'landscape' in the UK including the appearance of a variety of models for managing WHSs, a wider range of organisations with an interest in WH, and, of course, increasing pressure on public sector budgets.

In response to these changes, LAWHF has decided to reconstitute itself as a new organisation - World Heritage UK. It will be Site-led, UK-wide, with a wider membership base than LAWHF and its focus will be on advocacy, networking and promotion.

WH:UK will be the only organisation exclusively focused on World Heritage in the UK.

Keep in touch!

Work is in hand to create a new website for WH:UK which will go live later this year. In the meantime, a new Facebook page has been created to keep people in touch with developments relating to WH:UK.
